ROLE: Sr ETL Engineer
Location: 100% remote (wants candidates on East coast)

Summary / Role Purpose
The Senior ETL Engineer will participate in the planning, design, development, implementation, and support of the ETL processes used to transform data within our Snowflake Data Warehouse in support of our strategic digital transformation initiatives. Development of ETL will primarily be done using DBT and SQL.
The Senior ETL Engineer collaborates with Business Intelligence in the development of data pipelines and processes that align with the Ansys data strategy and data portfolio.
The role requires execution of tactical day-to-day initiatives as well as contributing to the fulfillment of the long-term data strategy. In addition to the development functions, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate expertise in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Snowflake database platforms.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain DDL scripts using DBT to physicalize data models within the Data Vault layer of the Data Warehouse
• Develop, implement, and maintain ETL/ELT scripts using DBT to move data from our Data Lake into our Data Vault
• Participate in the design of hubs, satellites and link tables within the Data Vault based on business requirements.
• Develop specifications and requirements for data to improve the performance, usability and effectiveness of data transformation routines
• Partner with business and technology teams to coordinate implementation of the data strategy and data architecture and maximize the value of information across the organization
• Document processes and procedures that contribute to ANSYS data best practices and standards
• Collaborate in designing and developing integration solutions and data migration strategies
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• A minimum of 7 years related experience
• Demonstrated ability working in collaborative team environment with other DBAs, developers, data modelers and architects, setting priorities, and achieving results
• Experience working in on-premise, cloud, and hybrid data environments
• Experience using Agile development
• Experienced in data warehouse, information marts, business intelligence, and master data management design patterns and implementation techniques
• Experience with Data Vault 2.0 methodologies, architecture, patterns, standards and best practices
• Experience using scripting tools and frameworks to automate the build and data transformation routines required to construct and load a data warehouse
• Experience in Oracle, MS SQL Server and Snowflake database technologies
• Experienced in Snowflake cloud data architecture
• Experience in use of Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server T-SQL
• Knowledge of DBT for ETL and DDL automation
• Works independently with minimal supervision
